Commission Brief

Today I was assigned my final brief for this year - using medium format camera
However, challenge here is that we only get six weeks to produce our 3 images

What I like about this brief is that there is so much to explore with the theme of 'waste'
You can apply it to something you do personally, e.g, I waste Food, Money and Time on a regular basis!

Also, we get to produce our own PinHole camera and create Photograms with waste objects.

I waned to look at the definition of 'waste' before looking into ideas and photographers.

Definition;
Verb:
Use or expend carelessly, extravagantly, or to no purpose.
Adjective:
(of a material, substance, or by-product) Eliminated or discarded as no longer useful or required after the completion of a process.
Noun:
An act or instance of using or expending something carelessly, extravagantly, or to no purpose: "it's a waste of time".

We get a choice of either taking a set of portraits of local people in the Medway area working with waste, images of discarded objects in the area, Fashion photographs using clothing from recycled materials or Landscape images of Landfills.

These images can either be on location or studio - it is good we get the option of using the studio as we can do test shots and explore the creativity of waste.
