Today was the introduction to using the HasselBlad digital camera (7years old)- and competing the assessment in order to officially use it on the day of our fashion set build production.
This camera is quite simple to use but can take a while to focus on the subject chosen!
*When holding a GRAY CARD use the neutralisation tool to colour correct on Phocus app!
It is recommended to use 500 or 100 ISO for this camera
- CCD resolution - 22MB
- Light sensitivity - ISO 50-400
- Max exposure time - 32secs
- Capture rate - 2 framers per sec
Knowing this is very essential as this camera is what is going to be used on the day of our fashion shoot, we also learnt 'Tethered Shooting' when the camera is directly connected to the computer which allows us to view our images seconds after they are taken ( on app PHOCUS)
* Can only use Hassleblad with Broncolour not Prolight (low voltage)
* Depth of field on this camera is unbelievably small - Aperture- F2.8, F5.6, F11
Equipment needed for 'Tethered Shooting'
- H1D camera
- Standard lens - 80mm F2-8
- Image bank (dedicated hardrive)
- Link cable (links camera to image bank)
- FW - Fire wire 400 lead
- Handgrip battery
- Kodask Gray cards
Difference between RAW + JPEG;
RAW FFF - large file - native file format - Non-destructive editing and its the pure unprocessed data
- cameras full of capacity
- digital negative
-fundamental to shoot on RAW
JPEG - excellent file to send - with low resolution (go up in a gallery)
- throws away data and compacts it into small information
Moreover, when on an professional shoot and using cameras like the Hasselblad, it is vital to work in a certain way!
- Create folder on MAC - hierarchy
- Capture injest > previews JPEG
- Client masters > RAW FFF (destination folder) > Master finals JPEGS > Master finals TIFF
- Working masters > working PSD'S
- > Working _TIFFS
